A great idea from the SBA years ago…Set up a Large Manilla Envelope for each of your competitors and gather all the information you can on them. I did this for a number of years. It was very insightful. I cut out their yellow page ad and taped it on the front of each envelope and then I had someone call and request prices/quotes/service info etc. and record it on the front as well. Inside i put their business cards, ad pieces, anything that I came across or someone gave me.

I couldn’t make the meeting. Car trouble.
I have been thinking about this and there are two questions that go along with “Where are you going?” Those are “What do you want?” and “How are you going to get it?”

Exploding Heads….OMG! LOL. It does feel like it might some days doesn’t it. Sometimes there is just so much exciting information out there and things to think about and then of course the risk…do I jump or not? And as Tanda mentions I think many of us are intrigued by new things, new challenges and frequently veer off on tangents to explore them with the result being we loose sight of ‘Where we are going’ with our business. Tanda and I have some “tools” we will be presenting on Monday that we have found useful to help us re-focus and make sure we are going where we want to go! See you then.

I am really looking forward to this meeting. I have just come to realize that my business partner and I are going in different directions. While I agree with and admire what he is doing; his focus doesn’t require the funds that mine does. I am interested in finding start-up funds for our non-profit, while he is content with the way things are.

I have decided to start a different business with a primary focus on my program development (see bio). That’s my plan if my head doesn’t explode first . I’ll see you on the 15th!
