EuroFe, a custom remodeling firm recently made a promotional video that features electronics that we custom designed for them. In particular a lighting control system which uses custom touch pads we designed based on our Modpad control chip.

The keypads have an embedded microprocessor running our Modpad firmware which communicates with a PLC-based relay panel. The PLC controls lights, garbage disposal and in some installs a separate variable speed motor for the range hood fan. The keypads were custom designed from the ground up for this application. However, we use the very open MODBUS protocol for communication so the same firmware can be extended to monitor/control a variety of devices and the keypads can be easily reconfigured for different looks and applications.

The concept is to improve energy efficiency by placing many low wattage lights right where you need them and giving you control at your fingertips to turn them on and off as needed.

EuroFe has a video on their website that features some of the lighting controls.
